October brings pumpkins, scarecrows and Halloween, but this year it also brought some extra-special events, starting with resident Vivian turning 107. What a milestone, and what an honor it is to walk beside her and her family on this aging journey. Resident Joe and his four brothers Bill, Art, Jim and All served in the Army between 1955-1971, and all five were given beautiful quilts sewn by Karen Whitaker of Sassy Stitches. Many in our CrestRidge family have been affected by cancer or have personal reasons to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so they each got a pink streak dyed in their hair courtesy of our hairdresser, Mary. Some of the folks took a lovely fall bus ride to see their hometowns of Montfort, Cobb, Livingston and Dodgeville. It was fun to hear their stories! There was a fun party to celebrate Halloween with “Ghoul”ash and “Ghoulish Punch” for lunch and lots of pretty amazing costumes! Thank you to friends and family members who came to trick-or-treat at the building, and to students from the Dodgeville High School Key Club who delivered Halloween treats and cards to the folks. Your visits brought lots of smiles! To view photos, please click on the web album link below.
